Silvana Dugandžić-Penavić (the "dž" sounds like the j in "joy," the "ć" like "ch") is a Croatian-American designer, author, and entrepreneur — and a mom of four and grandmother who believes beauty begins with trusting yourself.

Raised in Zagreb, Croatia, Silvana trained as a physics and mathematics professor before moving to the United States in 1990. At SUNY Stony Brook she earned her M.Sc. and studied business management — a foundation of precision and pattern that quietly shapes everything she creates. She later received her Reiki Master Teacher certification from the Loving Touch Center on Long Island and has studied healing practices and light-body traditions from around the world.

In 2010, her knowledge and experience led her to found Raul E® New York, the luxury beauty and fashion brand she leads as CEO — named for her beloved horse Raul, and shaped by her journey from Zagreb to New York.

Silvana is also a bestselling author. Her bilingual children's book, The Light Keepers: Vedrana's Journey / Čuvarice Svjetla, published through her imprint SDP Media, reached #1 in its children's category on Amazon. Rooted in her Croatian and Herzegovinian heritage, it carries the wisdom of seven foremothers to a new generation — in both of the languages of her life.

A recipient of the P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship (1991–1993) during her graduate studies at Stony Brook, Silvana established the Silvana Penavic Educational Fund within the P.E.O. International Foundation in 2012, and has served the sisterhood for over two decades — as a charter sister of Chapter CK in 2004 and in leadership roles at the chapter and New York State level.
